in a meeting with Vi, the creative director of the film, we have decided upon a number of things nessecary for moving fowards with TOTL

one of the things is the sky. Vi and i agreed upon the use of an orange polluted sky instead of the black starry sky and green sun light used. Vi put together a number of HDRI's in photoshop with differing levels of oranges and yellows, and while we are debating which is the best, we both agree that the orange sky is a better look for the film. we will also be adding atmospheric perspective to further enforce the fog to Fridway (that's the name of the city). test footage of what it should look like shown above.

we will be changing things to the cut of the film as well, and revising the animatic as a whole to have a better composition and pacing of cuts. Tessa, who is a part time TOTL-er will be working on this. we have been in contact with them for the duration of preproduction, so they are well familiar with everything happening in the film.

We also have decided to work using RedShift in both Maya and Houdini. that way we can work in both Houdini and maya, Houdini being my preferred application and Maya being Vi's. With Houdini i can rebuild the city with more procedural methods, like the packed geometry node and scatter nodes. Houdini can also aid us in keeping the poly count at a manageable scale, with the camera blast node.

Currently i am working on making a higher poly version of Skye's apartment, designing props for said apartment and Vi and i will be making a prop list.
